  1. Welcome to the Contact Wizard, the Personal Information Manager for the 90's.

  3. This is a trial version that has one limitation. It will only display 25
  4. contacts in the Contact Manager, even though you may have entered 1,000s.
  5. To remedy this all you have to do is register the Contact Wizard for the
  6. low price of only $39.95.
  7.  
  8. I know that you're going to register and for that you get my undying thanks.
  9. The following is included, just in case you wish to order a second or third 
  10. copy for that second or third computer you have. Remember, the license that 
  11. you receive states that you're only allowed to use each registered 
  12. copy of the Contact Wizard on ONE COMPUTER.

  14. You are however, allowed to pass out the the Contact Wizard v1.00s Try Before 
  15. You Buy Software to whomever you please. My dream is to see the Contact Wizard 
  16. on every Windows 3.x computer in the world (approx. 80 million). Please do

  21. The Contact Wizard was written by JSoft Consulting because I couldn't find a 
  22. Personal Information Manager that actually met my needs.

  24. The Contact Wizard still doesn't meet all of my needs (it doesn't come with 
  25. a coffee maker), but it's getting close.

  32. Try Before You Buy Process

  34. Try the Contact Wizard as often as you like (for 30 days). There are several 
  35. functions that have been disabled, but you will still get a feel for the Contact 
  36. Wizard so that you can purchase it if it meets your needs.

  38. Click on the Register the Contact Wizard in the opening screen once you have 
  39. decided that this is the right product for you.

  41. Enter in all of the information on the Feedback/Registration form, 
  42. print out the Feedback/Registration form and send it to the address on the form 
  43. with your payment.

  47. To own your very own registered copy of the Contact Wizard send only $39.95 
  48. with the appropriate shipping and handling to the address on the Feedback /

  55. Since the Contact Wizard is distributed as Try Before You Buy software, 
  56. please be sure that it meets your needs BEFORE you buy it.

  58. Even though the disks you receive are warranted for 90 days from date of 
  59. purchase, there can be no refunds given, only exchanges or credit.

  70. Payment is accepted by check, money order or bank draft only. Please allow an 
  71. extra 10 working days for checks to clear your bank before the Contact Wizard is

  80. order in US funds. (due to the nature of our banking system it is impossible

  109. This and the above information make up the license agreement, allowing you, 
  110. the user, to use the Contact Wizard and the the Contact Wizard "Try Before 
  111. You Buy" software package.

  113. Should you buy the Contact Wizard, your acceptance of this license agreement 
  114. will be transferred to your registeredRegistration_Information copy. This software 
  115. is the the Contact Wizard "Try Before You Buy" software package and as such 
  116. incorporates the Contact Wizard which includes its code (source and compiled), 
  117. documentation (printed and/or electronic), appearance, structure and organization 
  118. which is a proprietary product of JSoft Consulting and is protected by copyright 
  119. and other laws.

  121. Once you have fully complied with the registration and payment procedures, JSoft 
  122. Consulting  shall grant you a license to install and use the Contact Wizard on 
  123. one (1) computer system.
  124.  
  125. the Contact Wizard is ⌐ copyright 1995 JSoft Consulting. Portions are ⌐ copyright 
  126. Microsoft, MicroHelp, Inc., WinWare, Inc. and VideoSoft. the Contact Wizard was 
  127. written in Visual Basic 3.0 Professional Edition with the ODK extensions. The 
  128. On-Line Help System was created using Visual Help Pro.

  130. You may make copies of the the Contact Wizard "Try Before You Buy" package and 
  131. provide it to others, as long as this package is not altered or modified in any 
  132. way, shape or form and they agree to abide by the terms and provisions of this license.

  134. Any attempt to decompile, disassemble or otherwise reduce the Contact Wizard to 
  135. a human readable form or otherwise alter the Contact Wizard automatically terminates 
  136. this license.  You may also be liable for damages suffered by JSoft Consulting. 
  137. Except as stated within, this license does not grant you any rights to patents, 
  138. copyrights, trade secrets, trade names, trademarks (whether registered or 
  139. unregistered) or any other rights, franchises or licenses in respect to the Contact 
  140. Wizard.

  142. Title to and ownership of the Contact Wizard, reproductions of the Contact Wizard 
  143. and all supporting documentation, whether in electronic or printed form, shall remain 
  144. with JSoft Consulting.
  145.  
  146. You will not adapt or use any trademark or trade name which is likely to be similar 
  147. to or confusing to the Contact Wizard or take any other action which impairs or 
  148. reduces the trademark rights of JSoft Consulting. Nothing in this license shall 
  149. exclude any statutory rights, warranties or conditions which are applicable to this 
  150. license or the the Contact Wizard "Try Before You Buy" software package and which 
  151. under any applicable legislation may not be excluded.

  153. If permitted by such legislation, however, JSoft Consulting's liability for any 
  154. breach of any such warranty or condition shall be and is hereby limited to either 
  155. the resupply of, or the correction of any defect in the the Contact Wizard "Try 
  156. Before You Buy" software package, as JSoft Consulting at his sole discretion may 
  157. determine.

  159. This license is effective until terminated. 
  160.  
  161. This license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to 
  162. comply with any of the terms or provisions of this license.

  164. Upon termination of this license you must erase the Contact Wizard and all 
  165. copies in your possession.
  166.  
  167. You may terminate this license at any time by erasing the Contact Wizard and 
  168. all copies in your possession. Upon termination of this license for whatever 
  169. reason you will lose any and all rights this license may have afforded you. 
  170. To the full extent permissible by law, JSoft Consulting hereby excludes all 
  171. conditions and warranties, whether imposed by statute, operation of law or 
  172. otherwise not expressly set out herein.

  175. JSoft Consulting does not make any express or implied warranties or conditions, 
  176. including, but not limited to, the warranties of merchantability or fitness 
  177. for a particular purpose with respect to the Contact Wizard.

  179. No oral or written information or advice given by any person shall in any way 
  180. create a warranty.  JSoft Consulting warrants that the Contact Wizard will 
  181. perform substantially in accordance with the owner's manual and/or on-line 
  182. help system and that the physical materials (disks and printed manual) are 
  183. free from physical defects for a period of ninety (90) days from date of purchase.

  185. Any implied warranties are limited to ninety (90) days. JSoft Consulting's entire 
  186. liability and your sole and exclusive remedy shall be at JSoft Consulting' option to:
  187.  
  188.     a) correct the error
  189.     b) help you work around or avoid the error
  190.     c) authorize a credit or exchange
  191.  
  192. The limited warranty is void if the failure of the Contact Wizard resulted from 
  193. accident, abuse, misuse or misapplication. JSoft Consulting developed the Contact 
  194. Wizard but makes no recommendations regarding its use.

  196. JSoft Consulting accepts no responsibility for the functioning of the Contact Wizard.
  197.  
  198. Except as set out in this license, in no event shall JSoft Consulting, or any of 
  199. his agents, be liable for any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, 
  200. damages arising from loss of business profits, business interruptions, business 
  201. information, computer programs, or any sequential damages of any kind and/or amount. 
  202. In the event of the invalidity of any provision of this license, the parties 
  203. (JSoft Consulting and the software user), agree that such invalidity shall not 
  204. effect the validity of the remaining portions of this license.This license will be 
  205. construed under the laws of the Republic of California. This license contains the 
  206. entire agreement between the parties hereto with respect to the the Contact Wizard 
  207. "Try Before You Buy" software package and supercedes all prior agreements whether 
  208. oral or written.

  210. Failure or delay by JSoft Consulting in enforcing any right or provision herein 
  211. shall not be deemed a waiver of such provision or right.
